Dane County Farmers’ Market

While visiting my brother and his wife in Wisconsin, we went to the Dane County Farmers’ market.  Held every Saturday around the Madison State Capitol building, this massive market is the largest producer-only farmers’ market in the United States – no reselling is allowed. The following photos were taken at various vendor booths.

Did you find the cheese-tasting place?

Yeah – there were tons of people sampling them. I’m not much of a cheese person, but I tried a few curds just for you.

So great to see you continue to share new experiences with us! If you get to Atlanta some day in your travels, be sure to check out the Dekalb Farmer’s Market. My children grew up shopping there each weekend. I am still looking for something remotely similar in Florida.

    Avery,

it was great to see you and mom and I am glad you enjoyed your time in Madison. The Dan County Farmers Market is simply amazing with producer only fruits, vegetables and even rabbit and emu for those inclined:)

We are very lucky to be in such a great city with nice people who care about supporting the farmers. Rest up and I will keep reading your compelling writing as your adventures switch from Africa to Florida with all sorts of travel in between.
